Dear unhappy customer,

I hope you have a terrific time reading the email I sent you. I wrote it in the middle of the night at 4.07am because it bothers me so much that I can't sleep and has been emoing after it.

See, it's not my fault that you didn't get the delivery advice. Some postman are lazy and don't put them at the doorstep. The wind may have blown it away, which believe me, happen A LOTS of time (it always end up at my neighbour) It may be in your letter box and you have thrown it away with the flyers.

You may not believe my hundred and one reasons and explanations and insist it's my fault. You claim that your maid is at home. With the proliferation of construction workers dating maids in Singapore, how can you be 100% sure that your maid is at home? Or maybe, your maid was at the market/toilet/vacuuming when the postman tried to mail your parcel? Have you ever think about the hundred and one possibilities that could have occurred while the postman was there?

I don't know why you insist it's my fault that you didn't receive your delivery advice. It's like you blaming me for not being the postman myself. Or perhaps you blame me for not being there to monitor the postman when he delivers your parcel? Maybe you can offer me a job, I charge $10 per hour, same as my part-time job.

If you think $10 per hour is too expensive, maybe you can get your maid to stand at the doorstep 24/7? I think that will ensure that you got your parcel. But maybe then you should build a toilet at your doorstep before she's there 24/7, you know, just in case she needs to go to the loo and the postman is there. And maybe you can supply her with a continuous flow of coffee as well, you know, just in case she fell asleep.

If you think the above solutions are too difficult/costly to implement, how about I suggest a BETTER solution to you? Maybe you can opt for meetup? I pass the item straight to you, and it reaches you later in 2 seconds, safe and sound.

Oh wait, don't do that, because if I meet you, there is this high possibility that my hand may accidentally hit your cheek, you know, most specifically your left cheek since I'm a right-handed. I don't know why it does that sometimes, I think maybe it likes dramatic people who create a big hooha over nothing?

So, I guess the BEST solution is this: why don't you simply not buy from me again? I hope to never see your name in my inbox. The small amount of profit that I earned from you is simply not worth the drama you have created. In fact, it is not even worth this lengthy post that I wrote to you and the several emails we exchanged. It is confirmed not worth my emo-ness nor the fact that I am still writing this at 4.30am in the middle of the night.

I hope you have fun reading my email, and may it brighten up your day, just like the first ray of the morning sun! Oh wait, please don't blame me if it rains tomorrow. I promise I will shift the rain clouds away from you!

XOXO

Black specks

I'm thinking of closing up the shop. See, I'm currently year 3 going onto year 4. I have 1 more school year and then I will be starting work as an auditor. I don't believe that I have the time to maintain my blogshop while I'm working. Closure is a matter of sooner or later.

I started out this blogshop with a passion, a passion for makeup. I love makeup and I always love watching Youtube videos where all the beauty gurus do tutorials and hauls. I love how it transform people with different looks. People always say that it is better to do something that you love rather than something you hate. This may be true in some aspects. I still love watching Youtube videos, stalking stores for new product launches and reading reviews on Makeupalley. I try to bring in items that are highly raved about and make it as affordable as I can. I love exploring new products and it may seem that opening a blogshop will be a fabulous idea.

However, this blogshop has slowly evade my love for makeup. Someone once told me that if you are working for something that you loved and have a passion for, no matter how much you love it, the work aspects will eventually corrode your love.

I disbelieve him at that moment. I thought, doesn't this make your work more 'workable' since you have a passion for it? Doesn't it make it more interesting than the typical 9-5 jobs?

But now, I understand what he said. My passion for makeup has slowly decreased. I will say that it has been  dirtied by black specks of hatefulness. I hate the times whenever I put up sale post for new products, excited that it will rock someone's world and it doesn't sell. I hate the times when shipment arrive damaged and orders get delayed. I hate the times when mails get lost and customers get frustrated. I hate the times when customers are late for meetup.

Sometime, I just want to go back to the initial me, the initial girl that simply love makeup.

YES! I'm so happy that exams are over! Freedom is here!

In fact, I have nothing to do and I am so lost with myself now. You know, just sitting here and hacking away at my keyboard writing this post. I hope my laptop don't explode because it has been generating those loud noises over the past few months. In meetings, no one want to close to me when I on my laptop because they are afraid they will die. It has been making me antisocial. =(

Anyway, I'm going to Taiwan on the 19th, can't wait to travel with the girls and eat all the good food. They are going to be so irritated with me washing clothes everyday since I intent to only pack 4 sets of clothes with me for the 2 weeks. =D

And yes, I need to sort out the pile of overflowing new makeup and samples that has accumulated over the few months. The other day, I was just telling my sister that I need to buy the Biore makeup remover oil when I am in Taiwan since they are cheaper there. Today I found a brand new bottle of it in my cupboard and I totally have no memory of how it got there. -.- Maybe the fairy godmother put it there? Ah, she must have known that I have it on my wishlist!

So, I really need to sort out all the makeups I have and maybe do up a sale post of the rest that I didn't really touch. Maybe being aware of all the makeup I have will deter me from buying more in Taiwan. Hey, I can save some money too! Yup, that should work!

Ok, this is getting to be a rambly post, bye!

Reminiscene

Tonight is a night full of memories. Helped sis to book a flight to USA. Coincidentally, my friend from work and travel USA also tagged me on Facebook. He created an album made from the photos he took 2 years ago. Yes, it has been 2 years but all of us still remember the good old times we had, the friendships we built and the awesome travel experiences we had together.

Below are some of the photos that I koped from his album (I'm not sure whether the quality will be good since I'm doing this on iPhone)

Feb Bellabox

I received my Bellabox today, and OMG, so happy because I receive this full sized blusher and powder! Ok, photos as below:

Can't wait to try the facial scrub, it has Adzuki bean and Cranberry in it! Sounds delicious! And facial mask with Matcha Tea in it! YAY! \o/ \o/ \o/ Put your hands up in the air!

And I love this small spray perfume samples because they are so small and convenient! I just throw them into my purse. Useful when I am rushing out of the doors and forgot to spray my perfume in the morning =)

AND LOOK, THIS IS THE FULL SIZED BLUSHER AND POWDER I'M TALKING ABOUT! The design is so beautiful with mini flowers in it, and the brush that comes with it is also super soft, not like the cheapskate, scratchy and rough brushes that you normally get

And finally, a grey eyeshadow and body serum. I admit that I wouldn't really use them, but it will be nice to try them out.

The Bellabox is very similar to the Birchbox in USA where you receive 4-5 deluxe samples every month. I subscribed to both services since Oct 2011, and I must say that the Bellabox is better:

  • cheaper (SGD15 per month compared to an estimated SGD25 that I paid for the Birchbox every month)
  • more deluxe samples: when they mean deluxe, they really mean deluxe! I hate samples (esp skincare) that are so small and you can only get one usage out of it. The amount provided is simply not enough for you to try out the sample to see whether you love it enough to purchase a full sized one. Bellabox samples are a good sample sized, enough for a few uses. Even 1 sample perfume vial lasts me 4-5 days!
  • samples that people want to try out. This is where the big difference between Birchbox and Bellabox comes in. When I receive my Birchbox, I open the box, browse through the samples unimpressed, and toss out the samples somewhere inside my cabinets. When I receive my Bellabox, I open the box, toss out the tissue papers, throw the perfume vials inside my purse, put any hair styling products on my vanity, any new makeup in my makeup bag and place any shampoos or conditioner in my toilet. By the time I'm done, I'm usually left with only 1-2 samples left to ahem ahem "explore when I'm free". SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
Ok, I admit, you may not like everything in these boxes (I can already foresee that I may not use the grey eye shadow) but they are always fun to try out to explore new brands and new products at an affordable price. Besides, you can cancel them anytime! So, head over to http://bellabox.sg/ to subscribe! =D
